Kai Keski-Korhonen Senior Executive Consultant
Kai Keski-Korhonen's considerable experience of protecting and advancing British industry's interests
in the European institutions makes him a formidable ally to his clients when trying to cope with the
wide range of proposals introduced by the European Commission.
Having spent almost 8 years in UKREP (Brussels), the UK Government's link with the European institutions,
Kai has developed a unique and in-depth understanding of the complex EU legislative process.
In 1999 Kai joined the team of UK's Permanent Representatives in the EU, part of the UK Foreign Office (UKREP), working
in the Industry and Internal Market section which is a focal point for EU contact with British businesses.
During his time at UKREP Kai was responsible for transport, energy, telecommunications (particularly the
Telecoms 2000 Review), postal services, State aid and company law.
Kai began his EU career by working with Finnish Members of Parliament in 1996, first working with Riitta Myller MEP
on a range of environmental and emissions issues. He then went on to focus on transport issues, working
with Pertti Paasio MEP, former Foreign Minister in Finland.
Kai was educated at the University of Turku in Finland and prior to working in Brussels was a school teacher in the
city of Espoo.
During his spare time Kai is a keen sportsman. He is co-founder of Finland United, a football club which
plays international teams in Brussels.
