Jay advises clients on the EU institutions, EU law and legislation, how to influence the EU and how to find your
way around Brussels. She specialises in environment, transport, competition, and industry policy.
She has considerable experience designing and delivering contact programmes to the EU institutions to meet clients’ needs,
ensuring the right people are connected, at the right time, helping to formulate key messages, and advising clients on how to
influence the process.
In recent years she has advised a range of clients, including the UK’s aviation regulator, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the Association of Train Operating
Companies (ATOC), GoSkills (the Sector Skills Council for Transport) and the UK Major Ports Group (UKMPG) on how to amend legislation
and manage stakeholder relations at an EU level. She has helped clients secure significant amendments to EU legislation, saving millions
of Euros in potential regulatory costs.
Jay has a degree in Political Science and Law from the University of Oslo, has studied the EU institutions, speaks English, Norwegian,
Swedish and Danish and maintains her European political and legal contacts throughout Europe. She joined Waterfront in 1999.
She lives on a barge on the Thames in London, and in her spare time enjoys travelling, photography and painting.
